Before you book a charter, please review this policy thoroughly. By reserving a charter with GentleParkPlace, you accept and agree to the terms of our refund policy.

Standard Cancellation and Refund Schedule

More than 72 Hours Before Charter

100% Refund

Eligible for: Complete refund excluding processing charges

Processing Time: 5-7 business days

Processing Fee: €50 for transactions via credit card

Conditions: Must be applied for in written form through email or telephone

24-72 Hours Before Charter

50% Refund

Eligible for: Half the total cost of the charter

Processing Time: 7-10 business days

Processing Fee: €25 taken from the refund amount

Conditions: A legitimate reason is necessary; service charges will be taken into account

Less than 24 Hours Before Charter

No Refund

Eligible for: Refunds not offered

Exception: We may consider exceptional circumstances

Alternative: Voucher for the charter may be issued at the discretion of the management team

Conditions: Proof needed for claims made under emergency situations

Weather-Related Cancellations

Our Weather Guarantee

Your safety is our utmost concern. In the event that charter activities are not advisable due to weather as determined by our qualified captain, we offer several alternatives:

  • Full Refund: Offered when changing the date is not feasible
  • Reschedule: Reschedule your charter to another available date without incurring extra fees
  • Charter Credit: A voucher good for 12 months from the original date of the charter

Weather Assessment Process

We take into account multiple factors when assessing weather conditions:

  • Examination of wind speed and direction
  • Height of the waves and state of the sea
  • Visibility and forecasted precipitation
  • Using Coast Guard advisories and warnings
  • Assessment of safety by our professional captain

Decision Timeline: Choices about weather cancellations are made no later than 4 hours prior to the scheduled departure time.

Medical Emergency Refunds

Emergency Circumstances

We are aware that medical emergencies can happen unexpectedly. Special consideration may be given in the following scenarios:

  • Unexpected illness or injury leading to hospital admission
  • Passing of a close family member
  • Unexpected military deployment or orders
  • Summons for jury duty or a court order
  • Travel-disrupting natural disasters

Documentation Requirements

To request refunds for emergencies, the following documents should be provided:

  • Hospital or medical certification
  • Death certificate where applicable
  • Proof of military orders
  • Official summons for court or jury
  • Notices of travel hardship due to natural disasters

Processing: Refunds in emergency situations are processed within 3-5 business days after we receive the required documents.

Operational Cancellations

Mechanical Issues

If the yacht assigned to you encounters a mechanical issue that can't be fixed:

  • Alternative Vessel: We'll try to provide a similar yacht
  • Full Refund: Offered if there is no suitable alternative
  • Partial Refund: If the alternate vessel is priced differently
  • Compensation: We may offer additional compensation for any inconvenience caused

Crew Unavailability

In the uncommon event that certified crew is not available:

  • We will try to arrange alternative crew
  • Complete refund if the charter cannot be conducted
  • Possibility to reschedule at no extra charge

Refund Processing

Payment Method

The method we use to return your funds is the same one you used to pay for the booking:

  • Credit Cards: Takes 5-7 business days
  • Bank Transfers: Takes 7-10 business days
  • Cash/Cheque: Takes 3-5 business days

Processing Fees

Credit Card Processing

A fee of €50 for cancellations made over 72 hours before

Bank Transfer Processing

A charge of €25 for all bank transfer refunds

International Processing

Additional costs might apply for international transactions

Charter Credits

When Credits Are Offered

In certain cases, we may provide charter credits instead of a refund:

  • Late cancellations (less than 24 hours prior)
  • Cancellations due to weather
  • Requests to voluntarily reschedule
  • In case of disruptions in operations

Credit Terms

  • Validity: 12 months from the date of issue
  • Transferability: Credits cannot be transferred to other individuals
  • Value: Equals the full cost of the charter with no deduction for fees
  • Usage: Applicable towards any charter currently available
  • Expiration: It cannot be extended beyond the initial 12-month period

Partial Service Refunds

Service Interruptions

In the event that your yacht charter is interrupted or shortened due to reasons we are responsible for:

  • A refund based on the proportion of service not used
  • A voucher for a future charter of equal value
  • Complimentary additional services or upgrades

Guest-Related Interruptions

If a charter is cut short because of the behavior of a guest or violations of safety:

  • No reimbursement for the portion not used
  • Full charges still applied
  • Possible additional fees incurred

Dispute Resolution

If you are not in agreement with a decision regarding your refund, your options include:

  • Request our management team to reassess
  • Provide supplementary information or evidence
  • Contact consumer protection entities for help
  • Explore any legal options as per relevant laws

Include the following particulars in your refund claim:

  • Confirmation code of your booking
  • Scheduled date and time of your charter
  • Cancellation reason
  • Any relevant documents (if required)
  • Your desired method of refund

Step 3: Review and Processing

Our team will acknowledge your refund request within a day, assess it based on this policy, communicate the decision within two days, and undertake the refund process within the timelines stated previously.

Important Notes

  • All applications for refunds must be made in written form
  • Refunds are issued in € regardless of the payment currency
  • We highly advise acquiring travel insurance
  • This policy may be modified with prior notice of 30 days
  • Any refund is subject to relevant taxes and regulations
